A brand isn’t always something you create once and then keep unchanged.

Sometimes it grows because you do.

My own brand began as A Fortunate Lens, at a time when my life had changed enormously. After leaving the property that had been home for 35 years, I needed a new name for my page, but the meaning behind that name went much deeper than most are aware.

Photography has a quiet way of changing how you move through the world. It teaches you to slow down, notice the light, feel the landscape and find meaning in moments you may have once walked past.

Photography has changed the way I think! Noticing the light that comes through the cracks in life is a journey that has been an inspiration to many lives that have been touched by Diane’s passion and commitment to Shining her light on others.

Photography became more than a creative outlet. It became a way forward. From starting over in 2020 to standing in the Southern Ocean near South Georgia, this is a story of resilience, gratitude and finding purpose through the lens.
