STORY
As dawn broke over Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre, the cracked desert earth transformed beneath the rising sun. Soft light swept across the barren landscape, brushing it with unexpected hues of pink, blue, and ochre — as though the land itself had become a canvas.
We had set out with a clear purpose: to witness the slow arrival of water as it journeyed down from Queensland. On the ground, the trek was demanding and harsh. But from above, the story changed. The landscape revealed itself as something else entirely — calm, abstract, and quietly magnificent. A reminder that in its own time, nature paints with a palette far greater than our imagination, asking only that we pause to see.
