Up close, the elephant’s skin reveals itself as a landscape of resilience. Deep folds and weathered textures speak of decades lived under the African sun, while the soft curve of the ear rests like a protective veil. In this intimate abstraction, I was struck not only by the intricate patterns but by the sense of reverence they evoke. Elephants embody endurance and memory; their skin carries the weight of time yet radiates a quiet strength.This work invites viewers to look closer — to see beyond the surface into a sacred presence, an ancient wisdom shaped by the earth itself. In Botswana, standing near these gentle giants, I felt the stillness of history pressing close, reminding me that some truths are written not in words, but in skin.
