STORY
As the sun dipped lower, its golden light spilled through the towering mountains, casting a soft glow over the wild horses that stood quietly in the fading day. Their breath lingered in the crisp air, almost frozen, as a lone musterer and her faithful sheepdog slowly made their way up the rugged slopes of Southern New Zealand. Every step felt delicate, not wanting to disturb the fragile silence that hung over the scene. High on the hill, time seemed to stand still. The horses, wild and untamed, watched with cautious eyes, their presence commanding yet serene. Snow-covered peaks formed a majestic backdrop, adding to the stillness that enveloped the landscape. There was a rare connection between us and these creatures, a silent understanding, as we both remained unmoving in the moment. The encounter, though brief, felt timeless, as man and nature stood side by side, separated only by the quiet space between.
