STORY
From above, Kati Thanda–Lake Eyre appears as a living canvas, its surface shifting with each breath of wind, each shift of light. In “Transformation, Kati Thanda,” salt, water, and mineral pigments converge in an ever-changing dance.
The aerial view reveals textures and colours that feel otherworldly — turquoise pools dissolving into ochre streaks, pale ridges sweeping like brushstrokes across vast emptiness. What seems solid becomes fluid; what seems timeless is, in fact, always in motion.
This work is a meditation on change — the beauty of impermanence, the resilience of the land, and the way transformation is written into the heart of Australia’s desert lakes.
