STORY
Standing on the Neville Hewitt Bridge, I braced myself against the fierce gusts of wind whipping across the Fitzroy River. The air was thick with anticipation as the twilight cast a soft, diffused light over the landscape, transforming the steel of the Alexandra Railway Bridge into a silhouette against the darkening sky. With each shutter click, I could feel the vibrations of the bridge beneath me, the wind attempting to push me off balance. The rhythmic hum of the nearby railway tracks added a soundtrack to the moment, as if the scene itself was alive. The river below seemed almost still, mirroring the sky's final bursts of colour as the day faded into evening. Being there, in that moment, felt like standing on the edge of history, capturing a structure that has withstood time, weather, and countless stories—much like the wind that now sought to shift my perspective.
