STORY
After a refreshing afternoon exploring the hills and valleys of southern New Zealand, where we were chasing light and the misty embrace of fog, this weathered wooden gate caught my eye. It’s rough-hewn texture a silent witness to years of rugged farm life—its simple structure speaking of long-forgotten paths and untold stories. Dividing golden grasses, a privileged entry gives rise to vibrant crack willows and distant mountains under the stark winter sky. The scene felt like a gateway to my own memories of rural life, a bridge between past and present, a symbol of resilience in the rawness of nature.
